10: How long was the shortest war in the world

The shortest war in history was the Anglo-Zanzibar War, which took place on August 27, 1896. It lasted for only 38 to 45 minutes. The war was fought between the British Empire and the Sultanate of Zanzibar. When the Sultan of Zanzibar refused to step down after the death of the pro-British Sultan, the British forces launched a brief bombardment, which quickly overwhelmed the Zanzibari defenses, ending the conflict in less than an hour.
